It is commonly seen walking on the ground in open areas, parks, and farmlands across Patagonia. Its gentle, repetitive cooing is a familiar sound in rural and urban settings alike. This species is highly adaptable, thriving in both natural grasslands and areas modified by humans. The Picui Ground-dove is social, often seen in pairs or small groups, and is known for its swift, direct flight.
