Getting there
Roads are paved most of the way, with sections of gravel (ripio) near the reserve. Self‑drive is possible, but a guided day helps you keep timing realistic and unhurried.

When to go — month by month
- Sep–Oct: nesting; adults busy on paths — superb for behavior.
- Nov–Jan: chicks hatch and grow — classic family scenes.
