Punta Tombo & Isla Escondida

Meet the Colossus of Patagonia
and the charismatic Magellanic Penguin

These tranquil and solitary beaches allow us to respectfully approach the Southern Elephant Seal, quietly observing their behavior and habits. This experience is combined with a visit to the largest breeding colony of Magellanic Penguins at Punta Tombo.

From September to late March, we can enjoy this unique excursion, walking along easy paths among Magellanic Penguins and their nests. We’ll observe their peculiar walk and parental behavior as they feed their chicks and protect them from predators such as foxes, gulls, and skuas. Guanacos will also feature prominently, alongside other terrestrial wildlife that appears along our return route.
