Coscoroba Swan (Coscoroba coscoroba)

Order: Anseriformes
Family: Anatidae

The Coscoroba Swan is a graceful white waterfowl native to southern South America, including the wetlands and lagoons of Patagonia. Slightly smaller than other swans, it features a pure white plumage, pinkish bill and legs, and black wingtips visible in flight. Its unique appearance and vocalizations set it apart from other swans, and it is often seen in pairs or small family groups. The Coscoroba Swan is an important part of Patagonian wetland ecosystems, feeding on aquatic plants and invertebrates. It is generally shy but can be observed gliding serenely across shallow lakes and marshes.
