Our Tours

Tours in Puerto Madryn & Península Valdés

We offer different types of tours to fit your schedule and interests. From half-day excursions perfect for cruise visitors to multi-day expeditions exploring wildlife diversity and, if you wish, even the prehistoric legacy of Patagonia’s dinosaurs!

Half-Day Tour (4–6 hours)

Ideal for those with limited time or arriving by cruise ship. We’ll visit nearby birding hotspots around Puerto Madryn, exploring coastal areas and steppe habitats. With a bit of luck, you may also spot local mammals like Patagonian Maras or Guanacos. It’s the perfect introduction to the unique landscapes and wildlife of Eastern Patagonia.

A White-throated Cacholote (Pseudoseisura gutturalis) feeding on a scorpion (Bothriurus burmeisteri) in the Patagonian steppe. This behavior showcases its opportunistic feeding habits and its role in the ecosystem as a predator of arthropods (more details).

Full-Day Tour (10–12 hours)

Recommended for those looking for a deeper experience. We’ll explore multiple habitats—coastal cliffs, steppe, canyons, and lagoons— searching for endemic birds such as the White-throated Cacholote and Patagonian Canastero. Depending on the season, we can also include whale-watching, visits to sea lion or elephant seal colonies.

A Patagonian Mara (Dolichotis patagonum) with its two young in the Patagonian steppe. This fascinating mammal is a rodent endemic to Argentina, known for its unique appearance and remarkable adaptability to arid environments.

Multi-Day Tours (2–3+ days)

Perfect for keen birders, wildlife photographers, or anyone who wants to dive deeper into the region. We can travel to more remote areas, combining the search for other special birds (like the Sandy Gallito or Steinbach’s Canastero) with optional visits to museums or paleontological sites—such as the MEF Museum in Trelew, featuring fossils of giants like Patagotitan mayorum. Each day is tailored to your priorities: birds, marine mammals, plants (including cacti), dinosaur discoveries, or a bit of everything.

A majestic Southern Right Whale (Eubalaena australis) breaching in the waters of Golfo Nuevo, off the coast of Puerto Madryn. This iconic marine mammal is a highlight of the region, offering unforgettable encounters during the whale-watching season.

All our tours are private and move at your pace. If you’re interested in Southern Right Whales (June–December), elephant seals, maras, or the paleontology of this region, let us know! We’ll gladly include those highlights in your itinerary.
